This verse in Matthew chapter 17 certainly doesn’t sound like the Jesus that society tends to paint a picture of: Jesus is love, Jesus hung out with sinners, Jesus loved everybody. Listen to the words he says to the man asking him to heal his son. Does this sound loving, friendly, tolerant, Or full of fairy dust? No, it’s the real deal. It’s God in human flesh. Jesus is so much more than what most people ever give Him credit for. And it’s not until we have a proper view of who He is, that we can have a healthy relationship with Him.
14 At the foot of the mountain, a large crowd was waiting for them. A man came and knelt before Jesus and said, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son. He has seizures and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.”17 Jesus said, “You faithless and corrupt people! How long must I be with you?
