When it’s all said and done, only God can do miracles. And when He does, even the pagans acknowledge it. The sad part is that acknowledgement doesn’t always translate into true faith. There will always be people who reject God, even if He works a miracle right in front of them. Jesus talked about this when He describes the “unpardonable sin”. God gave man freewill. What he does with it determines his eternity. Miracles serve God’s purpose. They either convict you, or condemn you. Your response is a test to reveal the true nature of one’s heart.
18 Pharaoh’s magicians tried to do the same thing with their secret arts, but this time they failed. And the gnats covered everyone, people and animals alike.19 “This is the finger of God!” the magicians exclaimed to Pharaoh. But Pharaoh’s heart remained hard. He wouldn’t listen to them, just as the Lord had predicted.
