When you have surrendered your life to serve God, and repented of your sin, receiving eternal life, your desire to not be controlled by your sinful nature has only one response: dependence upon God to give you discernment and the power of forgiveness. It’s the only way to know you are free of guilt and seen as innocent of great sin. Being fully aware in your spiritual life is only possible through an honest pursuit of God, asking Him to empower you with His Spirit. It’s the only way possible that allows us to see spiritually. Sin loses its control when you see it for what it really is, through God’s eyes.
12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.13 Keep Your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
