If there was one thing I could teach the modern teen it would be consequences follow our actions. Either for good or bad, consequences always follow. And they are not directly related to our view of the quality “we think” of how good or poor they are. If a man steals bread because he is hungry, there are still consequences. Yes, they may not be as harsh, but they’re still there. I know from experience as a teacher, the results on society that happens when natural consequences are removed. It ends up training people to focus more on themselves, and thus become more selfish people. The best thing society can do with children is discipline them. And that starts at home. So when they get older they won’t end up an enabled or entitled soul. What do you get from a pampered cow? Spoiled milk.
30 Excuses might be found for a thief who steals because he is starving.31 But if he is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole, even if he has to sell everything in his house.
Proverbs 6:30-31
