You Can’t Beat God….

You can’t beat God. It’s not possible. Yet more and more people try. They think they can outsmart Him. Out-maneuver Him. Out-last Him. They think, “if I cannot win the war, I will at least win the battle”. Where does this come from? It comes from Satan, God’s defeated foe. If he can’t beat God, Satan will deceive as many souls as possible, just to get back at God. What kind of attitude is that? What kind of life is that? To think we are like God, or even better than the One Who created us, is ludicrous. And if we can’t defeat Him, some think, “I will at least not allow Him the joy of receiving my soul”. Does that not reveal the sinful nature the Bible talks so much about? And when we realize that and act in a way that’s vindictive towards Him, what does that say about the state of our heart? Exactly what the Bible says, a rebellious, enemy of God. That’s exactly why we need a Savior, to rescue and transform our heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh, full of His Spirit. God does it for those who ask, in a way that doesn’t involve bitterness, spite, or vindictiveness. His reaction (unlike in the OT) to our ugliness is with love and grace. What more do we need? Those that receive it, have unspeakable joy, and have a “real purpose” to live. You can’t beat God. For those who think you can, an eternity of torment awaits you, with no relief.
