Reading Proverbs chapter 8 could easily be mistaken for being one of Psalms. It talks about God’s sovereignty. About how the oceans and seas have boundaries. And so, man has boundaries too. Yet our nature says “No”. If the seas have boundaries, and yet have the freedom to rage and swell, ebb and flow, so do we. Why is it that we cannot learned to live within these boundaries? Nature does without complaining, never missing a beat. For those who learn to live within these boundaries, they find life, and receive favor from the Lord. But for those who don’t, they injure themselves, by confusing death for life.
29 I was there when He set the limits of the seas, so they would not spread beyond their boundaries. And when He marked off the earth’s foundations,
Proverbs 8:29
35 For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord.36 But those who miss me injure themselves. All who hate me love death.”
