The Bible tells us that when you come across a fool, you’re better off walking away. It gives the example of being safer when standing between a mother bear and her cub, than when you confront a fool caught in his foolishness. If you know anything about nature, you know that you never, ever, ever, want to be caught in between a mother bear and her cubs. It’s a death sentence. She will fight to the death to defend her off-spring. It is not safe. But the Bible says it’s safer than trying to confront a fool. Save yourself some pain, the next time you recognize a fool caught in his foolishness, slowly back away, and when you reach a safe distance, run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. No point in wasting your breath, your time, or your efforts on an impossible task. If the Bible uses this analogy, take it to heart and apply it to your life.
12 It is safer to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than to confront a fool caught in foolishness.
Proverbs 17:12
