Consulting God beforehand is always the best practice. Kings Ahab and Jehoshaphat were planning on going to war with the king of Aram. The king of Judah, Jehoshaphat, told Ahab (my paraphrase), let’s ask the Lord first. Before we make plans, let’s consult God first. How often do you consult God First before making a decision? I must admit, I don’t. How much am I missing out on by being self-centered? How many blessings have I passed up? How much heartache in my life was self-inflicted because of my lack of duty to God? I wonder what could’ve been if I had consulted God First? How about you?
