Education has its benefits, but if it’s your “magic bullet”, sole purpose in life, you’ll be disappointed in the end. Your knowledge won’t save you. Your intellect won’t bring the joy you think it will. Matter of fact, the deeper your wisdom, the greater the grief. Maybe the old saying has much more to it than we think, “Ignorance is Bliss”. Either way, a life lived without being made right with God is a life all about pretending; putting off the important. Use the wisdom you are blessed with to make deposits in Heaven’s bank. That way, you’ll be able to make withdrawals even after this life ends.
16 I said to myself, “Look, I am wiser than any of the kings who ruled in Jerusalem before me. I have greater wisdom and knowledge than any of them.” 17 So I set out to learn everything from wisdom to madness and folly. But I learned firsthand that pursuing all this is like chasing the wind. 18 The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow.
Ecclesiastes 1:16-18
