Reading Ezekiel chapter three I can’t help but ask myself what Christianity is all about. Some say it’s a religion. Some say it’s a crutch. Some say it’s a diversion to reality. Followers say it’s all about a relationship. Who is right? God is right. And what He says matters. Christianity is all about Jesus. And it is personal. People think Christianity is about telling others what’s right and what’s wrong with the world. I get caught up in that at times. What Christianity really is about is how much we make it apply to our own lives. Christianity is an individual relationship with God that becomes relational to other individual believers. Until we make our faith personal, it will never blossom into the kind of faith God intends us to have. If it’s not personal (meaning you pursue God with all your heart), then it’s really not faith at all. It’s just head knowledge and wishful thinking. It’s not until we make our faith our own that it qualifies us to share it with the world. When personal faith is shared with the world, it reaches beyond the intellect, and with God’s help, transform souls.
10 Then He added, “Son of man, let all My words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself. 11 Then go to your people in exile and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Do this whether they listen to you or not.”
Ezekiel 3:10-11
