Christianity is pretty simple. God wants us to be open and honest with Him. If we “mess up”, He wants us to “fess up”. He will always forgive when we genuinely repent (fess up). When we don’t, we create our own problems. I don’t see what’s so difficult about this. I guess pride has its way of distorting the truth. And our innate sense of not wanting to “be told to what to do”, certainly adds to the process. So much so it keeps people away from God. Imagine, the very thing that can solve our dilemma and ease our pain, is the very thing we push away. My question to those who see it this way is, “how’s it working for you?”
13 People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
Proverbs 28:13
