If you don’t believe man has a sinful nature, you have your head buried in the sand. If you don’t think you have a sinful nature, wait until you’re put in a dire a situation. We all have a sinful nature. The only difference between those who commit atrocities and those that rise above adversity is God’s involvement in their lives. Those that pursue God, that openly serve Him with humility, accept the”bad things” that happen and respond appropriately. God honors those that honor Him. For those that abandon God, He abandons them, leaving them to their own depravity. When God abandons a man, due to his total irreverence, things get ugly “mighty quick”. Evil reigns where man is left to himself, it’s just the way it is. When God abandons, all Hell breaks lose. We all have the potential to commit evil acts. Only God has the power to overcome. If you believe this to be true, how does it affect the way you think and live?
7 “Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: You people have behaved worse than your neighbors and have refused to obey My decrees and regulations. You have not even lived up to the standards of the nations around you. 8 Therefore, I Myself, the Sovereign Lord, am now your enemy. I will punish you publicly while all the nations watch. 9 Because of your detestable idols, I will punish you like I have never punished anyone before or ever will again. 10 Parents will eat their own children, and children will eat their parents. I will punish you and scatter to the winds the few who survive.
Ezekiel 5:7-10
