Have you ever thought of persecution as a way of separating the sheep from the goats? A type of refining and cleansing of the true saints? The second we think we’ve got a good hold on scripture, God opens our eyes to new and much deeper understanding of Who He is; leaving us more humble and less confident in ourselves. It’s what His Word does. It’s alive and active, sharper than any double edge sword, separating our worldly thoughts from those of eternal value. It’s only when we seek Him whole-heartedly, that He allows us deeper understanding. Pursue Him today, with your whole heart; prove to yourself that He is LORD of your life.
34 During these persecutions, little help will arrive, and many who join them will not be sincere. 35 And some of the wise will fall victim to persecution. In this way, they will be refined and cleansed and made pure until the time of the end, for the appointed time is still to come.
Daniel 11:34-35
