If pride isn’t a huge issue, then why does the Bible talk about it so much? Simply because it’s the one thing that keeps us out of God’s will the most. Pride has a way of justifying our mistakes over God’s truth. It’s like an insect getting caught in a spider’s web. The more you struggle in it, the more trapped you become, sealing your fate. God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Examine yourself, see if there are any areas of pride roaming free. Then put an end to it before it scars you for life.
3 follow my advice and save yourself, for you have placed yourself at your friend’s mercy. Now swallow your pride; go and beg to have your name erased.4 Don’t put it off; do it now! Don’t rest until you do.5 Save yourself like a gazelle escaping from a hunter, like a bird fleeing from a net.
Proverbs 6:3-5
