In order for us to benefit from God’s word, we have to be in it every day. We have to put it into action. Knowing it is only half the battle. Living it out is the other important part. You can’t be what you don’t possess. And you can’t benefit without it being real to you. Get into God’s word daily and watch it transform your being. This is exactly what this passage tells us. When we do, we never have to be afraid or discouraged. God is for us, who can stand against us? The only way we can ever know this, is to spend time getting to know Him. Impression without expression leads to depression.
8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. 9 This is My command–be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
