Do you want to honor God today? Go help someone in need. By doing so, you will honor God. It must come from your heart, otherwise, don’t do it. Every time we help those who are poor, we honor God. Regardless what our head says about it, it’s a pure heart that does the hard things. The homeless and beggars on the street may have caused their own grief, but that isn’t reason to drive by with our windows up and doors locked. Our attitude towards the poor is a sure sign of where our heart’s loyalty lies. You’re either for God, or 100% for yourself. The Bible says it is a sin to withhold from doing good, when it’s in your power to do so. Maybe the next time you see a person in need, it will be a test. A test that God gives you, revealing the condition of your heart. Are you willing to get dirty in order to show others what God’s love is really like?
31 Those who oppress the poor insult their Maker, but helping the poor honors Him.
Proverbs 14:31
