There are many ways to climb a mountain. You can use ropes, use a ladder, free climb, or even take stairs carved into its side. But what if there was an escalator? Would you waste time trying all the other avenues, or would you step on the escalator and enjoy the ride? It’s free, it doesn’t require a passport to get on, and it’s guaranteed to get you to the top. Jesus is the escalator to Heaven. He is the way to God, the only way. He’s free. And He’s paved the way by what He did on the cross and what followed is proof He is legit. Knowing this, why would you waste any effort trying to get to God? Why would you try to do it yourself? This is the dilemma of religion. It’s man’s attempt to earn Heaven (salvation). He feels that if he doesn’t put forth an effort to justifiably earn salvation, then it’s not worth it. It’s a pride thing. Christianity, on the other hand, is the direct opposite. You don’t have to earn your salvation, for its impossible. And on top of that, the only role pride plays in it is you have to give it up, die to self. You see Christianity is the opposite of religion (even though it’s classified in with all the religions). Think about it. It can’t be earned or won. It requires you give up your pride to get in. It’s not pursued to be gained, rather it’s lived out in gratitude because of what was already done. And it’s free and guaranteed. What more can you ask for? Jesus is the escalator to Heaven. Why try to do it yourself when Someone has already done it for us? Jesus is the way.
50 Jesus asked him, “Do you believe this just because I told you I had seen you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” 51 Then He said, “I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of Man, the One who is the stairway between heaven and earth.”
John 1:50-51
