All human beings suffer from a disorder called “ingrownus eyeballus”, otherwise known as self-centeredness. We tend to see ourselves as better than others. We see ourselves as good, especially when we start to compare. The only remedy for this universal disorder is humility. Sometimes it can be self-imposed, other times, we are given a large dose by God Himself. Either way it’s necessary. If you don’t like being humbled, don’t allow yourself to self-inflate.
2 People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives.
Proverbs 16:2
