When the Bible talks about doing evil in the Lord’s sight, it does it for a reason. Sin is sin regardless of what level you place it on. God tells us what’s not acceptable behavior. It’s not up to us to determine if He’s right or wrong. Sorcery, divination, witchcraft, and consulting mediums and psychics are all wrong. Sacrificing children, or any human beings for that matter, is wrong. How does this translate into modern day society? People don’t do that kind of stuff these days, do they? How about reading horoscopes? What’s your sign? Abortion on demand? I could go on, but isn’t that the same thing? When the Bible clearly tells us what’s wrong, why do we try to justify our actions, when they clearly fall into same category it states is evil? Ask God to help “clean up your act” if some of these practices are common activities for you. When you do, you’ll find life is a little more joyful and less weighty. When you get sinful behavior lifted off of your chest, you can breath a lot easier.
6 Manasseh also sacrificed his own sons in the fire in the valley of Ben-Hinnom. He practiced sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and he consulted with mediums and psychics. He did much that was evil in the Lord’s sight, arousing His anger.
