This isn’t always the case when it comes to suffering, but it holds true when suffering is due to our own deliberate sin. Why are people so blind to the consequences of sin? Answer, they have no connection with God. Perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:18), and perfect love only comes from God. If we were as deliberate to connect to God than live to please ourselves, we wouldn’t be blind to actions that drive us away from Him.
