Repentance is hard. It fights against our pride. Our pride tells us “we are okay”. Our pride tells us “we are good enough”. Our pride keeps us in an unrepentant state. It robs us of our ability to say “Sorry”. When we do sin, God’s anger only lasts for a moment when we repent, He is quick to forgive. It is far better to refrain from wrong doing, but when we participate in it, our duty is to repent. We know God’s anger is only temporary, but even more important, His favor is eternal. Repentance is worth it. Doing the right thing honors God. Even in sin, repentance is doing the right thing. When we honor God, He honors us. His favor lasts a lifetime.
5 For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime!Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Psalms 30:5
