Deserved Of Our Focus And Attention….

If you ever want to know what intimacy with God looks like, read a psalm from scripture. There’s nothing like reading some of David’s writings. He got it. He knew God. And although he wasn’t perfect (like the rest of us), he knew where to turn when he was down-trodden. He knew where to go when he wanted to celebrate. He knew God is the center of his life. God is deserved of our focus and attention. When we step down off the throne of our life, and rightly place God there, our souls are revived. Joy comes to the heart when we volitionally serve God. It gives us insight for living. Our greatest reward in serving the Lord is His presence. There’s just no substitute this side of Heaven that can match the joy, peace, purpose, and security one gets when he fully surrenders his life to walking with God. Is He Lord of your life? David got it. You can’t help but see the mindset David had. The confidence, courage, satisfaction, purpose, and peace that come from knowing God are free to all who decide to learn their place by pursuing God. It’s the only true way to understand oneself. If you want that kind of life, you know what you have to do, don’t you? Simply ask, then put into action what you know to be true. You’ll experience everything David experienced and more. How do I know this? God promises it to all who believe and live by faith in Him.

The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.8 The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.9 Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true;each one is fair.10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.11 They are a warning to Your servant,a great reward for those who obey them. 12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?Cleanse me from these hidden faults.13 Keep Your servant from deliberate sins!Don’t let them control me.Then I will be free of guiltand innocent of great sin. 14 May the words of my mouthand the meditation of my heartbe pleasing to You,O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Psalms 19:7-14
